Alane Johnson received her Bachelor’s in Science with a focus in Public Health from Kent State University. Motivated by her passion for public health and her inclination to provide health care to the underserved, she returned to school to obtain a diploma in nursing and worked as both a short-term rehabilitation nurse and a geriatric nurse in the New England area.

Her interest includes the relationship between socio-economic status and health, the accessibility of health care access for people of color, and black maternal health care.

She is a wife and mother to three and resides in Texas with her family.
